A cake squishy is a slow-rise foam slab molded like a slice of cake, about 21 x 12 x 6 cm, with a glossy top and sprinkles pressed into it, sold in the dark tray it sits in. The tray is part of the product: it flexes and squeezes with the cake rather than being packaging to throw away. Seven flavors, $20.99 to $24.99.
What is in it: milk, sea salt, strawberry, chocolate, mango, taro and green grape, each in the color of its flavor with the same crackled shell and slow rise as the butter sticks.
The squeeze is different from a stick: broader and flatter, more of a press with the whole hand than a grip. They are display pieces as much as fidgets, and they photograph well as a set.
